Eye Openers Medical Aid

The Eye Openers Medical aid conducts medical camps weekly once in two villages around Tuni. This way through out the year the medical camps are being conducted fifty four times in a year in 108 villages. The location of the camp will be the local church, where the pastor organizes the camp and after the service the camp will be conducted where a doctor and 10 medical staff will be there at the camp. And some local church volunteers will be there to help the medical staff. Free medical check is done and then medicines are distributed freely and if there is need for a surgery mostly eye surgeries are called to the centre and Operations are done for free providing boarding at the hospital for a day.

We have a established full pledged Eye Care centre that takes care of surgical intervention in vision restoration Programme. So far hundreds of people were benefited with free cataract surgeries and distribution of spectacles for vision restoration through this programme. The local pastor will follow up with these patients.

Day Care in Tuni

We are surrounded by many low income waged families, which makes them hard to afford good schooling for their kids. Eye Openers is in a mission to support these families by taking care of their kids schooling. We want to provide good quality education along with Bible knowledge to this younger generation so that when they come to age they will be having good education which can fetch a good job for them and also grow with the knowledge of Jesus Christ. We have full time professional teachers who are proficient in English who can give these students quality education and also provide them with books and other stationary. One meal on campus will be provided which will lighten the burden on their parents. The kids will be in school during day time and in the evening go back to their families.

This program has been started in 2007 and there is a great response from the families.

Family Care

The Family care programme aims at the families; we also want to reach out to the families who send their kids to our day care. Many low income families in our community need counseling, because of the lack of counseling there are many broken homes which effect the kids. So we are committed to help these families to build strong families. We believe by giving good financial counseling which will help them plan ahead to avoid any sudden unwanted situations.

SOS Women

This programme is started to help the women in the community who are suffering from aids or became widows because of this killer disease. We want to take care of their basic needs and encourage them with the Good news of Salvation and pray with them.

Outreach

This is a Evangelistic mission. We have 10 pastors who are getting support and are committed to share the Good news to the villages. These pastors are full time evangelists with a small church in local villages. These servants of God are poor and independent and need some kind of support which will help them to take care of their families. Right now about 10 pastors are getting support every month. These pastors are well read in the scriptures and are committed to obey the great commission.

Prayer cells

Women prayer cells have been started from 2001. These groups of women spend a day in the week fasting, praying and bible study. They also meet monthly in groups to pray and have fellowship. There are about 20 women in 5 different villages that come together in a week to this prayer. For every village group there will be a group leader who organizes this meeting. Besides fasting and praying these women reach out to non- believers families in the villages and pray for them. These women have a great impact on other women of the village. We want to support these women and so far we have been supporting about 20 women.

Mega Out reach programme:

This is a open air mega meeting conducted once a year in one location, where all the villages where our pastors are serving will be invited and local as well as international evangelists will be invited to share the good news. This meeting will be for three days and nights. We will provide transportation for the villagers to come to the meeting. This event once a year will be very helpful for the people to hear the gospel from committed evangelists through out the world. In the past we had this meeting which had a great response where more than 500 people attended.

Equipping Churches

Most of the Village churches are thatched roofed in small cottages often located in the pastors own property, these are often small churches with a congregation from 30 to 70 and they have difficulty having comfortable accommodation. Eye Openers Intention is to provide basic needs of the church like providing Chairs, Sound system, Drinking water, Lighting system etc.
One important mission of ours is to start Sunday school for kids in these villages, A small gift of appreciation will encourage these kids to attend the Sunday school.
